
This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric and scientometric analysis of the Journal of the Brazilian Chemical Society (JBCS) on the occasion of its 35th anniversary. Drawing on data from Scopus, SciVal, and InCites, the study examines publication trends, citation impact, international collaboration, thematic evolution, and societal reach. Results show a corpus of over 6,000 articles with an average Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI) of 0.45 and a trend of increasing international co-authorship. The analysis identifies key thematic clusters, ranging from green chemistry and nanomaterials to analytical methods and natural products.
